Windermere Air Show 2010

One of the most spectacular show of its kind in the UK, Windermere Air Show attracts visitors from all over the country. The event in 2010 takes place on 24th and 25th July, and it´s 10th anniversary coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, so an incredible show is expected.

Main events include displays by the Red Arrows, Aerostars Acrobatics team, Breitling wing walkers, Twister duo, a Sea King helicopter display and the RAF Falcons parachute team. There will also be a fly-past for the anniversary of the Battle of Britain on both days.

To make the show a fun day for all the family, there will be ground events too, including a fun fair, a flight simulator, an exhibition of military vehicles, a falconry display, sheepdog demonstrations, and a marquee selling home made cakes, sandwiches and a whole range of produce and bric-a-brac.

All activities will take place at the Glebe Entertainment Area, close to Windermere at Bowness. Entrance is £10, and all the money goes to charitable causes. The Glebe is also the best spot to view the air display. The event raises money for local charities and is organised by the Rotary Club. For more information see www.windermereairshow.co.uk
